Should Old Acquaintance be forgot and never thought upon…

A spot to archive nerd images of interest from out of print/hard to find art books, magazines, comics and other assorted ephemera laying about as well as detours into other things found about the web. I really do try my due diligence to make sure none of these things have been seen online before with the scanned images or at least new to Tumblr with the web stuff to make it worth everyone's while and to have fresh content but, y'know, I'm not perfect and I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
Some of the pieces from the 'Hey Oscar Wilde! It's Clobberin' Time!!!' literary art collection (link above) may make it over here from time to time as well. Or not.
Much randomness ahead...

“Man is out of nature and hopelessly in it; he is dual, up in the stars and yet housed in a heart-pumping, breath-gasping body that once belonged to a fish and still carries the gill-marks to prove it. His body is a material fleshy casing that is alien to him in many ways - the strangest and most repugnant way being that it aches and bleeds and will decay and die. Man is literally split in two: he has an awareness of his own splendid uniqueness in that he sticks out of nature with atowering majesty, and yet he goes back into the ground a few feet in order blindly and dumbly to rot and disappear forever.”
― Ernest Becker, The Denial of Death
